While you are sleeping...

we are enjoying a beautiful morning in Khelmnitsky (still not quite sure how to spell it and sure not able to say it. Sound starts with "h". I know that much now.). It is 11am. We are waiting. You do a lot of that. We are sitting on a bench outside of a copy place where Anna is making lots and lots of copies. I can't tell you again how happy I am that we are here and not in Kiev anymore. There was nothing wrong with Kiev. It's just so big! You know I'm more of a small-town girl. This city is still pretty large, but it is really very charming. The streets are tree-lined. David is working on his Experiencing God study. It's quite relaxing, although I'm still ready to be home. This is a BIG day in that we are hoping lots of paperwork gets completed. I know I mentioned in post last night, but please pray the Inspector is super gracious to work beyond fast on her portion of the paperwork. The orphanage director is being great and has her portion done. We went to pick it up at 10am this morning as we were asked to, but we didn't get it yet. She told Anna she needs to do something else first. Not sure what or why but we know that the director is being careful to make sure everything is done just by the books so there will be no problems. We appreciate that! One neat thing I forgot to mention last night. After we were sitting in the office for a few minutes after the reunion, the kids ran out to get some school awards to show us. The orphanage director went over to a bookcase and reached up high and gave us a goody bag. It was FILLED with pictures and letters that Alona had written us wanting her to send us. She said she had been saving them for us. They were so sweet! A picture os a house with Isabelle, Keely, Max, Jenny and David. Also many pictures where she had written, "deaiz alona. i love jenny" etc with all our names. David asked Kostya what "deaiz" means? Kostya said, "she is writing "this is"'. I even figured that one out. :) Right it as it sounds, huh?! Oh, the awards they had gotten. Alona had one for reading. She told us she likes poems. Makc had one for drawing and even won 2nd place in a school drawing contest. (That is not a surprise. He drew a lot this summer and is really very talented). They showed us their homework and school books. I think they will be fine in Math. They seem to be moving along with that and using English numbers. gotta go..bye! jenny

Good morning! Glad to hear that David is able to find a comfy bench and that you like the tree lined streets! It's amazing how God loves us! Talk about the desires of your heart. He brings you on this Journey and still allows you to feel comforted! LOVE IT! Have a great day! PICTURES PLEASE!!!!!

"While You Were Sleeping" was a really cute movie and great way to start your post. So glad you two are comfortable in your surroundings, makes for a nice adoption experience and down time.
Sounds like Oksana is really pulling for you and getting things
done quick. We'll pray everyone moves a long with their portion.
Enjoy the kids I'm sure they are
anxious to see you. That is probably putting it lightly.
We all miss you guys here and wish
you a speedy return. Tamara and Philip are praying and also the Dingus bible study. We covered you in prayer last night. Can't wait to see the pictures!

Hi, guys! While you were waiting outside the copy place, did it occur to you that "makin'copies" was what got you two connected in the first place? Cool detail! I hope it was cool for you guys and can't wait to hear about the next visit. Love,
t

Ohhh, the long waiting. Even worse is the feeling of "I have no idea what our facilitator is doing or why we are here" - you'll get plenty of that also! I know what you mean about preferring a smaller town to Kyiv. There's fewer people driving on the sidewalks there!

Really glad that you like where you are -it does sound kind of nice with your description but there is no place like home I know! Yes, we are dying to see more pics of everyone!
Can't wait to see your next post!

Okay....what happened this time "while I was sleeping" ? (It's Thursday)....Can't wait to hear from you two! I loved the pictures. Showed them to Andrew at 2:45 in the morning last night and had him read the reunion part of your blog. Then he asked if I'd listen to what he was up late working on...his Christian comedy sketch for the Thank God It's Free event this Saturday. Late night...but worth it. Hope you get this message..I'm not sure if this is where I'm suppose to leave a message if it doesn't really relate to that particular blog day. Love you and yours!
